First you get some ACRYLIC GLOSS MEDIUM and put 3 layers of it on the sole, let it dry between layers. then you put on your angelus paint on the sloe, (i’ve tried other paints like fabric and regular acrylic and they failed, only angelus worked) make sure you put 2-3 layers of paint on it. then let dry, then you put 3 more layers of the gloss medium. simple huh??? but it works!!!

Now the reason it works because you cant paint on rubber DIRECTLY, a guy who work on cars told me that, he said you have to put something over the rubber and then paint over it. the paint and the rubber CAN NOT come in contact with each other. the paint can not adjust itself correctly to the rubber so it is basicly sitting on the rubber, but when you put MEDIUM on it, you can now paint it. medium is kind of a glue than can bond to ANYTHING, even metal and glass and rubber. so when you paint the rubber with the meduim your really putting glue on the shoe, so it will stick to the rubber, and when you paint the meduim, the paint will get stuck to the medium, causing it to not go NOWHERE. and when you put the medium over the paint it protects the paint like a shield. when GLOSS medium dries, it turns to a super flexible slippery hard surface, making it very difficult to penetrate. so THATS why when i scrape the shoe the paint does not comes off because your not really scraping the paint, your scraping the medium. the medium protects the paint from under and above.

so now you all understand why it wont crack, KNOCKS YOURSELVES OUT!!! so now i beeter see some hot customs from yall….WITH THE SOLES PAINTED.

But run some test before you start painting soles, because you need to make sure the gloss medium you have is the right one. not all gloss mediums are the same, the one that i have is DickBlick gloss medium, it can be used like glue. i use that enstead of fabric glue when i put fabric on my shoes. so when you go looking for a medium, look for the kind that says it can used like glue.
